The inflator is intended to increase the apparent volume of programme without the loss of dynamics and peaks that happens with conventional compressors and limiters. The inflator has a different set of artefacts compared with conventional limiting - for people to explore, that for one reason or another must aim for maximum loudness and impact. Yes it does change the sound, because sadly there's no avoiding the laws of physics So all attempts to increase levels beyond max modulation will always cause some set of artefacts or another. I would like to use it last in my mastering chain, after the +L1 Ultramaximiser. There is much more low midrange, & some distortion "overdriven" sound.Ĭan you reccomend a setting that will not change the sound other than more volume. I'm trying to get 2-3 more db in volme or "apparent" loudness, which is happening, but the sound definitely seems to change. I've read everything i could find on the internet about it including all the Paul Frindle articles etc on how to use it so i think i'm using it correctly. ![]() ![]() Rascquel wrote on Wed, 03 November 2004 22:21
